In my old middle school, our school's main focus was surrounded around the arts. In sixth grade I took one art class but continued with band and continued it through eighth grade. When I entered high school, I was not expecting to take an art class, but am glad I was assigned one. I am not a really creative person but found taking this class was a great stress reliever compared to the daily craziness of honors classes and PBL projects. I made the art the way I did because I wanted it to represent me and my interests. I believe I worked better when we were able to choose what we wanted to create versus being assigned a medium and topic. I made my artwork using the materials assigned such as tempera paint, linoleum blocks, ink, clay, and acrylic paint. The techniques I used was the ones I learned in class such as manipulating the materials to my liking and using color schemes for my art that appealed to me. My art means it shows who I am as a person and people will get an understanding of who I am and what are my interests by looking at my art. I will try to take more art classes in the future for a stress reliever, but can not guarantee that possibility.

AuthorI am Julius, a VMCCA student who likes art and music. I enrolled in this art class to express my creativity and imagination. I like the much simpler designs in art, and I show that in my artwork. Archives
